Many thousands of kilometres of carbon steel, duplex, super duplex, and clad pipelines have been inspected and certified both at manufacturing plants and during site laying. Various welding technologies were monitored—ranging from SMLS and ERW/HFI to SAW and mechanically bonded systems—covering diameters up to 48” (and 80” for service lines).

IQS personnel during their careers, have acquired special skills and focused know-how in the field of construction surveillance and testing of platform structures, including materials and equipment, up to commissioning activities and start-up procedure.

Specific experience has been acquired in the past years in the construction of FPSOs, managing & coordinating surveying and inspecting fabrication of some of the major FPSOs. “Archaeologic Surveillance” consists in providing support to any type of excavation. Whenever there is an earthmoving equipment operating, be it excavation or grading activities, it is required by legislation to have the permanent support of a competent archaeologist to verify the possible presence of artifacts or any other kind of find that might be of historic interest.

IQS personnel have the capability, expertise to perform dimensional control of line-pipes in various conditions such as in-line production, raw and coated line-pipes, stowed, and stored at site. They can also handle both dimensional control and NDT of raw and finished materials or components like casting, forging of valve bodies, flanges, tanks, line-pipes, etc.
